Petition to Save the Konectbus 2/2A Service

Help Save 2/2A Konectbus Bus Service

I have been made aware that Konectbus are planning to withdraw their 2/2A service which operates between Holt, Sheringham, Cromer and Norwich. From early November Konectbus has proposed that this route will completely stop. Clearly, this will affect many residents of North Norfolk who use the service to commute to and from Norwich for work, school or college.

I have written to the Managing Director of Konectbus, urging him to re-think this decision. I am also seeking to meet with officials from Norfolk County Council along with the bus company to try to work out a way forward that prevents the complete withdrawal of these services

I have drawn to the attention of Council officials that if the 2/2A service is withdrawn the routes it served will only be covered by one operator. I know that local bus users are concerned that the lack of competition could potentially lead to price rises which I am keen to ensure does not happen.

It is really important that we maintain rural transport and that it is kept affordable. Having healthy competition on key routes such as those between North Norfolk and Norwich is a key part of this and I hope you will help by signing my petition.

We urgently call on Konectbus and Norfolk County Council to protect the 2/2A service, and to put on hold proposals to withdraw it until all alternative options have been considered.
