Making ex-RAF Coltishall work for North Norfolk

County Councillor John Timewell has led efforts to turn the former RAF base at Coltishall into an asset for Norfolk and a source of real local jobs. He welcomes news that the site is forecast to generate over a million pounds of income in 2015-16 for the county and to make a profit.

When the Conservatives ran Norfolk County Council they bought the site without having a proper plan. After elections in 2013, the Liberal Democrats agreed to work with other parties at County Hall to sort out the mess the Conservatives had left behind. North Walsham West councillor John Timewell has taken a leading role in getting Scottow Enterprise Park set up at the former RAF Coltishall.

"I am really ambitious for the site. I think it has the power to create many jobs in the area across a range of exciting new businesses," says John.

Fourteen companies now operate out of the site employing more than 60 people. The site gained a huge boost recently when parts of it won Enterprise Zone status which will make it an even more attractive place for businesses to invest.
