Lamb Calls For Action To Be Taken To Improve North Walsham Railway Station12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 11th Sep 2003 Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for North Norfolk, has again called for action to be taken now to improve the appearance of North Walsham Railway Station and the area surrounding it. Following complaints from local residents and the North Walsham Amenity Society, Mr Lamb has written to the County Council, EWS and the owners of Anglia Railways, urging them all to take steps to improve the appearance of the station and to ask if they would be willing to attend a meeting to be convened by Mr Lamb. In his letter to Gordon Hanning, Head of Passenger Transport Unit at Norfolk County Council, Mr Lamb writes: "It is intensely frustrating for everyone concerned, particularly local residents, that no progress appears possible in improving the appearance of the station and its approach, at least until the outcome of the Greater Anglia franchise is known. I am also writing to EWS and the owners of Anglia Railways just to have another go at trying to persuade the various parties that action needs to be taken now and that further delay cannot be justified."
