North Norfolk Advocacy Group Makes Special Trip To See Local MP12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 8th May 2003 A group of North Norfolk constituents have gone to great lengths to ensure that they can all get to London next week, to visit their local MP, Norman Lamb. Members of the Members Council and Advocacy Group at the Charles Road Day Centre in Holt will be travelling on a coach equipped with ambulance lift and other facilities to ensure that all their passengers, most of whom have learning difficulties, can travel safely and comfortably. Margaret Barford, Facilitator for advocacy work at the centre said: "This trip is the result of a massive fundraising effort and a huge amount of organisation. We may well be making history: two of the group have special care needs and there will be four wheelchairs. I am very glad that Mr Lamb offered to see us in London and that we have been given this opportunity. We are all looking forward to seeing Mr Lamb and learning more about the workings of Parliament." Mr Lamb said: "I am very impressed with the advocacy work the Day Centre does amongst adults with learning difficulties who use the centre and I know everyone has worked incredibly hard to make this visit happen. I am honoured that they are making such an effort to come to see me in Parliament, and hope that they will find their visit to London useful and interesting."
