'Westminster Wanderers' To Join Charity Five-a-side Competition

The main English football season may not be getting under way until next weekend, but there will be an exciting prelude to it in North Walsham on Sunday! Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk, will again be taking part in North Walsham Town and Youth Football Club's 12-hour Sponsored Five-a-Side Football Marathon on 10 August.

His 'Westminster Wanderers' team, which was successful in the event last year, will be taking on a team from Broadland 102FM in two half-hour matches, at 12:00 noon and 1:00pm.

In addition, the MP will be presenting a cheque for £150 to the football club. This was given to Mr Lamb by MORI after he participated in a survey the company was undertaking.

"I am delighted to be taking part in the competition," said Mr Lamb, "and to be able to present this cheque. The club is a valuable asset to the local community, and deserves all the support it can get."
