EEDA Responds To Lamb's Concerns Over North Walsham General Trailers Site

1.50.19pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 2nd Dec 2003

The East of England Development Agency (EEDA) have responded to questions from Norman Lamb over the future of the General Trailers site at North Walsham.

Norman Lamb said: "This is clearly an important development site for the town, and at present the appearance of the site is rather depressing".

Richard Ellis, Chair designate (EEDA), said: "EEDA regards this site as highly important for the area and, whilst no visible activity has started, EEDA is active in taking the development forward".

Mr Lamb added: "EEDA have assured me that they will keep me informed of the progress being made. One of the problems they are facing is the issue of site access. I hope that this can be resolved with County Council Highways as soon as possible so that work can commence".

The issue of site access requirements including access for Walls Engineering Ltd still remains outstanding.

EEDA aims to promote economic regeneration in the six county East of England region: Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
