Holt payphone to stay for now

9.09.00am GMT Fri 6th Feb 2004

Following pressure from local residents and Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk Norman Lamb, BT have decided not to remove the payphone box opposite 31 Edinburgh Road, Holt.

Commenting, Norman Lamb said: "I am pleased that BT have decided not to remove the phonebox, at least in the short term. They will monitor the use of the phone, and could yet remove the box at a later date. I have been promised that a 6 week consultation notice will be issued should that be the case."
