Norman Lamb is concerned about the local impact of Norwich Union job losses

11.32.17am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 9th Jun 2004

Norman Lamb has spoken out at the news of the 700 job losses which were announced by Norwich Union today.

"I am greatly concerned about the effect of these job losses on the local economy," Mr Lamb said this morning. "Norwich is bearing the brunt with 250 jobs going, and I recognise the impact on the individuals who lose their jobs and the knock-on effect on their families."

Norman Lamb will be asking Norwich Union to meet with him to discuss this development.
