"Suggestions of renewable transport fuels obligation welcome" says Norman Lamb

4.26.05pm GMT Wed 2nd Nov 2005

Norman Lamb today welcomed suggestions that the Government will introduce a renewable transport fuels obligation, paving the way for the sale of biofuels at petrol stations.

Mr Lamb, who earlier today led a debate in the House of Commons on the issue, commented, "We are on the brink of a huge breakthrough on this issue."

"The Prime Minister's comments at the weekend, together with those of the Minister today in my debate, suggest that the UK will now get a renewable transport fuels obligation."
