Lamb Urges Local Organisations to Apply for £800,000 Available to North Norfolk Until March

10.25.00am GMT Tue 14th Nov 2006

Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk, is highlighting the need for local organisations in North Norfolk to apply for money available up until March from the Big Lottery Fund's Countryside Communities fund. The fund is a five-year initiative to address low levels of lottery investment in parts of the UK, including North Norfolk.

"This special fund was established precisely because North Norfolk had not secured its fair share of lottery money. It followed a request from me to find out whether there was a shortfall in funding locally," says Norman Lamb.

"Now we are in danger of again missing out if North Norfolk organisations do not get in applications quickly. There is nearly £800,000 available for North Norfolk before the end of March next year. There is a real opportunity here for important local projects to get valuable funding for much needed projects but time is against us. I would urge local organisations to explore urgently whether to apply for a share of this funding."

Local organisations of all sizes can apply for funding for projects within the new programmes specified in the document at http://www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/pub_new_programmes.pdf
