Norman Lamb MP and Leading Local Campaigner Meet Top DEFRA Officials in Bid to Protect Norfolk Coastline

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 20th May 2008

Norman Lamb MP, and Malcolm Kerby met top DEFRA officials Tuesday, to argue the case for local people in coastal erosion and flooding strategy.

Norman Lamb and Malcolm Kerby put froward their views to a DEFRA adaptation working group who are considering how to spend £30million over 3 years, money committed to adaptation to help local communities on the coast deal with climate change. Norman Lamb stated that, "this was an important opportunity to speak up again on behalf of local communities - such as those in the Broads area threatened by the Natural England options. We again took the opportunity to argue that the options should be withdrawn without further delay."
